Smart and Sustainable Civic Infrastructure would change the present look of the ABD area. Air quality monitoring with the help of App would provide information about clean air index to all in and around ABD area. Assured electricity supply, automated online water quality monitoring would provide uninterrupted electricity as well as information about water quality in ABD area.
CCTV cameras, incident alert apps, rehabilitation of old sewer lines, smart classrooms in Govt schools in ABD area, smart e toilets and Wi Fi connectivity, would also provide a world class residing experience to the citizens of this area. Around 13 projects have been planned for ABD area, to boost local identity and economy.
As fresh air is the basic right of every citizen, air quality monitoring with App has been planned for the residents of Jaipur. The App will keep one informed about the pollution levels in the air. This will also be a guide for everyone how to bring down the pollution levels so that the carbon level does not rise drastically.
This project of Jaipur Smart City Limited was done in convergence with Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board. The app is known as Raj Vayu which would be used for sharing information about air quality index of Jaipur.
Raj Vayu is based on the data collected by sophisticated air quality monitoring equipment and weather sensors. It would share details about the air quality, such as levels of pollutants like Particulate Matter, SOx, NOx, CO, Ozone particles with the city residents and tourists. Information about temperature, humidity, wind speed, weather forecast, and advisories would also be issued through this App.
Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB) is the first state Board in the country to have this app for its citizens. This is based on the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting Research (SAFAR-India).
The estimated cost of the project was Rs.1.10 Cr. and expenditure incurred on the project is Rs. 1 Cr. The project was started on 11 Jan 2017 and was completed within 5 months since inception.
At present manual monitoring of water quality is carried out in the water distribution system. To improve the monitoring of water automated online system is proposed. This system after implementation would ensure quicker response to water quality issues, improved data management, reduction of water borne diseases and improved health. 10 monitoring stations have been considered for the project area, where high number of complaints are recorded.
This is a unique project to highlight all the problems related to oneself using this app. As mobile applications enable the citizens to report the issues and grievances related to the streets in the city and other issues related to the government departments. All the reported issues are accounted for and the one gets assured support from the concerned department.
Through Rajasthan Sampark, Government of Rajasthan intends to achieve all important aspects of good governance viz. Robust Delivery System, Transparency, Communication, Grievance Redressal and Sensitivity towards citizens while Jaipur Samdhan is an initiative by Jaipur Nagar Nigam to reach out directly to citizens. Using this app, the citizens of Jaipur can register complains and problems related to Jaipur Nagar Nigam. They can also check the live status of complaints posted. Users can also view the complete history of complaints done by them with timelines.
Apart from the problem related with water, sewage and cleaning, the street problems like pot-holes, water-logging and street lighting can also be reported by Jaipur citizens along with submission of picture or photograph as a proof so that immediate action for rectification of the same can be initiated by the Jaipur Municipal Corporation and concerned authorities.
This project of Jaipur Smart City Limited is in convergence with DOIT and Jaipur Municipal Corporation. The cost of the project was estimated to be Rs.2.30 Cr. and the project is completed in Rs. 2 cr. which is below the estimated cost.
The project was initiated on 11 Feb 2017 and was completed on 28 May 2017 within 4 months’ time.
This is a major project planned in the ABD area. The importance of this is that the sewer lines in this are very old, and need to be replaced. As the traffic conditions are also acute, the work needs to be done in a manner which do not hamper the day to day life of the residents. The trenchless technology is the answer to such type of rehabilitation works planned for this area.
Maharaja library is a heritage building which has been chosen for a makeover in the ABD area. In its present form also it is used for many as learning centre. The changes look would provide great aesthetics to people visiting this place on a day to day basis.
The smart classroom project of Jaipur Smart City Ltd has been undertaken in the smart city proposal to offer quality education to the students of Government schools. As the education has come up in a long way, to provide quality education and keeping abreast with the latest, this project has a very big significance.
The Jaipur Smart City Limited is striving to enhance the learning outcomes of school children using diverse techniques. One of the technique is to empower teachers by training them to use multimedia content and interactive techniques. By having the right mix of the conventional blackboard based teaching along with interactive multimedia techniques, the administration believes that students will have an improved learning experience which will convert into better learning outcomes.
The use of multimedia techniques in the appropriate manner shall help slow learning students to grasp concepts in an easier way. The interaction of technology and content with students and teachers during teaching-learning process, the students will be all the more attentive to what is being taught in the class. Hence, with the overall objective of improving learning outcome in mind.
Jaipur Smart City Limited has set up smart classrooms in the selected Government Institutions of the ABD area of Jaipur including the supply of equipment’s, installation, training and maintenance of the complete smart classroom system.
Students module standard wise/ medium of instruction wise/ subject wise and Board wise.
Teacher training module standard wise/ medium of instruction wise/ subject wise and Board wise.
Remedial Class Activities for weak students.
Activities for promoting extra-curricular activities i.e. quiz competition, elocution, debates etc.

The installation of the smart classroom is complete in all respect including the teachers training to use them on regular basis. Approximately 400 teachers were trained from these schools. Thye students and teachers of these schools are all praise for smart classrooms. The project started on 17 April 2017 and was successfully completed on 05 August 2017. The expenditure incurred for this project is Rs 0.89 Cr. Seeing to the success of this project Jaipur Smart City Limited has planned a project of infrastructure development and renovation of 26 government schools of Jaipur.
The Multi-Level car parking (MLCP) project is undertaken by Jaipur Smart City Ltd to east out the congestion in the marketplace. The traffic has increased manifold and the walled city area which is a retrofit area has the limitation of expanding hence the idea of multilevel car parking has been planned for this area. 4 projects have been planned in MLCP namely Chaugan Stadium, Anaj Mandi , Aatish Market and Jaipuria Hospital. The first 3 projects are in the walled city area or the Area Based development (ABD) area. Jaipur Hospital is added to maximize the facilities in this Hospital to ease out the pressure of SMS Hospital. As no of patients has increased in Jaipuria Hospital in last 4-5 years the present parking space on the ground floor was getting limited, and the entry of the Hospital was fully occupied by vehicles haphazardly parked throughout the place.
The 3 location of the walled city MLCP would definitely ease out the traffic movement on the roads of the Bazars in the vicinity of these parking. The work has already started in all the 3 locations of MLCP. Anaj Mandi MLCP work started on 15 Oct 2017, and the scheduled time of completion is 14 Oct 2019. As it is surrounded by businesses dealing with food grains the roads surrounding the open space is crowded with trucks and other commercial vehicles. One can barely move on foot on these roads in the daytime. The plan is to prepare an MLCP for approximately 200 vehicles. The cost of this project is Rs.14.84 Cr.
Jaipuria Hospital has come up in a big way as a multi-specialty Govt. hospital and the pressure is increasing every day for the hospital to cater to as many patients as possible. This has come up as a big support for the patient from south of Jaipur, as they can avoid the long queues going to other hospitals which are located in crowded places. Parking would help in reducing the clutter on the main gates of the hospital. The work has already started on 9 November 2017 and scheduled date of completion I 8 November 2019. The provision is made for 220 cars and the estimated cost of the project is Rs.12.41 Cr.
Chaugan Stadium MLCP will take care of 2 important things in that area. As Jaipur Smart City Limited is also redeveloping the Stadium into a modern Sports complex with facilities like swimming pool, tennis courts and other sports, the parking can be utilized by sportsmen and audience during the time of sports. In the day this parking can be used as normal parking space for all the vehicles which are parked in Gangori Bazar. As this is also the entry if one is coming from north of Jaipur, the main bazar is crowded with vehicles. The entry of Govind Dev Ji temple also adds to the traffic, as people from nearby areas visit Govind Dev Ji temples 5 times a day for prayers. The project has started from 20 December 2017 and is likely to complete by 19 December 2019. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.15.51 Cr. and parking space would be created for approximately 400 cars.
All these parking would be equipped with modern facilities like car sensors to locate parking at the entry, Display board to guide the directions, adequate lighting, lift to the users etc. Once these will be fully functional it will be a great help to commuters in an around this location, as they will enjoy smooth traffic.
The smart road project is one of the biggest projects of Jaipur Smart City Limited. This came into existence to enhance the capacities of the retrofit area of the walled city. As the infrastructure was laid out at the time of developing the city, with time wise alteration it is trying to support the changing requirements of the walled city area. The smart road project will change the whole scenario once it is implemented. It is being planned to take care of the present requirements of the walled city area. As it is getting planned with present requirements it will at least take care the changing requirement for the years to come in a better way. The smart road project will take care of the modern need for the traffic requirements. It will also take care of the modern-day surveillance as well as WIFI connectivity for the roads.
The designated parking space on the side of roads, E rickshaw lanes, footpath for walking on the side of the street and demarcated vending zones would create extra space so that the movement of traffic is smooth. As the drainage in the walled city area is age-old, smart road project will take care of the drainage too. Proper connections are planned for the drainage so that the seepage into other drains can be stopped. The utility is the walled city area is not at all planned. As the requirement increased or some new facility came it was added as per requirement not taking an integrated approach. Through Smart Road project all the utilities in the walled city area would be underground. This would clear all the clutter which has been caused due to a lot of wires in the areas. All electricity, telecom wires, other services which require the use of optic fires, water connection etc. which are haphazardly done would be underground.
Proper signage on the roads will also help in the smooth movement of traffic, these will also guide the commuters about various other announcements which can be done through a digital display, like temperature, air pollution, parking announcement etc. Vendors are a big problem in the walled city area of Jaipur. A lot of roads, as well as parking space, is usually occupied by them which make the movement of traffic slow. Demarcated areas will be allocated which can only be utilized as vending zones.
Dedicated sit outs on the side of roads, will help city commuters to rest during walking on these streets. Smart toilets, as well as water ATM, will also add facilities for walled city commuters. Safer crossings and junctions are also getting planned for a smart road project. The plan is to create a city surveillance center which will help in taking care of this area through modern technology at fingertips.
The smart road project will cover all major streets of the walled city area namely Kishan Pole Bazar, Chand Pole Bazar, Tripolia Bazar, Gangori Bazar, Chaura Rasta, Nehru Bazar, Bapu Bazar, Johari Bazar, Chandi Ki Taksal till Jorawar Singh Gate. This is approximately 8 Km area of the walled city. The estimated cost of the project is approximately Rs.192.60 Cr. which includes both the civil as well as ICT work which is being planned for a smart road project.
Ajmeri Gate Junction which is a part of the smart road project is already dedicated to the public on 3 Feb 2018. The beautiful new look Ajmeri Gate has already become an eye catcher for people coming to the walled city area. The cleaning of sewage has started in Kishan Pole Bazar and utility duct casting work is also in progress simultaneously. The start date for the smart road project is 21 July 2017 and Jaipur Smart City Limited is geared up to complete Kishan Pole Bazar by 2018.
Nalla redevelopment project is undertaken by JSCL to beautify the surrounding of two prime areas and the development of Kiosks in C Scheme and Malviya Nagar. The major highlight would be to cover the Nalla which can be utilized for making a vending zone which can be used by farmers to sell their produce. This would help in enhancing the aesthetic value of these locations and help in cleaning the environment as presently these are used to throw debris which makes the environment dirty.
This would also add more space for people for commercial activity. In the present status, the vending zone gets extended to adjoining roads which reduces the smooth flow of traffic in these prime locations. Nearly by government offices in C Scheme requires a smooth flow of traffic as this area is thronged with people all across the country, which gives an adverse image of the beautiful pink city. Similarly, Hospitals adjoining Malviya Nagar Nalla and nearby airport also requires smooth movement of traffic.
This will also help in enhancing good health as in both the locations food joints have come up adjoining the Nalla which is a major health hazard for street food lovers.
The estimated cost of the project is Rs.8.15 Cr. where the LOA has been allotted to start the work at the earliest.
Chaugan Stadium is one of the oldest and most treasured venues for Jaipur major cultural, social and sporting events. It is the biggest open space available in area-based development (ABD) area, which is the walled city area of Jaipur. Bearing the name 'Chaugan' which has several meanings (open ground and the curved end of a hockey stick), this stadium is situated between Gangori Bazaar and the City Palace.
This is also utilized for district level tournaments which happen around the year. This can supplement the sports facility available in SMS stadium and can reduce the pressure on Sawai Man Singh(SMS) Stadium, as it can be used for all type of sports.
Jaipur Smart City Limited thought upgradation of the sports facility in Chaugan Stadium. The upgraded stadium would have facilities for cricket, football, hockey, tennis, badminton, and swimming pool etc. of international standard. A dedicated parking is also getting developed to accommodate the vehicles during sports events.
The estimated cost of the project is Rs.22.09. Cr. This also includes upgradation of sports facilities in SMS stadium. The new facility which would be added at SMS Stadium would be an international level velodrome to promote bicycle race in youths.
After this project is complete JSCL is sure that children in the walled city would be motivated to participate in all the facilities developed for them at Chaughan Stadium, and Chaughan Stadium would regain its glory.
